5870 eyefinity edition powercolor

hi all just trying to set up an eyefinity rig for my nephew, ok he has 3 monitors and got 3 display port adapters with the card,i have all 3 monitors connected via a dvi cable to display port adaptor to the g/card, but i cannot get the system to allow 3 monitors in a group only 2, why is this, any help would be appreciated.

is it true you still need the display port adapter even though this is the eyefinity 6 edition,

Two of the adapters can be passive, but the rest have to be active. Also, are all 3 monitors the same resolution?

yes they are all the same model, i just dont see the point of getting the eyefinity edition if you still need to get the display port adapters, cheers anyway.

just been looking on the ocuk website and they have the guide at the bottom, things you may also be interested in, on all the normal 5870's it suggests an active display port, but on all the eyefinity editions it dosent, which suggests to be that its not needed, which is a bit misleading.
