Now I'm getting a 5870 I take it I will get a better picture using the HDMI rather than DVI? My monitor has HDMI connections so just need to get a cable.

Nope - both digital formats - your picture won't be any better. HDMI is useful if you're hooking up to a TV instead of a monitor 'cause it can carry the audio signal with the picture.

HDMI is the same as Single Link DVI except it has audio with it.

Dual link DVI is technically superior to HDMI as it supports up to 2560x1600@60Hz.

A digital cable will never give a higher quality image than another digital cable on the same screen. The same data is being transported, the cable is merely a path for the data to flow in.

It's like saying special SATA cables will make your hard drives faster.

I asked this before was happy normal cable are fine :) i still got a HDMI cable thou as soon i will get a TV that i will econnect up for watching blu rays so will use the TV now and tten :).
