Hey guys, I need some advice.
I'm upgrading to an XFX 5870 through the XFX returns programme cos my 4870x2 died. It's the same as OVERCLOCKERS' XFX 5870 850mhz (click) but its 875mhz clock speed instead of 850.
However, I heard a few things about 'non-reference design' cards, i.e. ATI designed the 5870 to have the fan right at the far end (opposite end to the display outputs), whereas this XFX card has a different design with the fan in the centre.
I presume cooling is a little better 'cos the fan is right over the heatsink, but I wanted to know what the general consensus is with non-reference design cards.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
