5870 squealing?!?! help

Hvae just put my 5870 into slot where i had my old 4850, put the power on and my machine started to squeal, any ideas? did not leave it on long enough to single out the noise, i assume it is my card as i have put my 4850 back in and it all ok

They do squeal but in general it's when the FPS is high like in game menus, squealing when loading windows does not sound right, what PSU do you have? are you using 2x PCI_E connectors?

I cahnged one of the connectors and its seems ok now. got a 700w cm silent. Hope this is the problem. Glad i had a spre from a old 650w i had.

My 4870X2 does it. Nothing wrong with the psu, it's a 7 month old Corsair TX 750w. Some cards just get capacitor squeal and some don't. If it's really annoying you you could try and rma it, but I wouldn't worry about it unless of course it's your psu making the noise.
