hi i have 2 5870s one XFX and one powercolor they are both connected by one bridge about to try 2 now for the first time.

I have issues with a few games :
cod mw2
left 4 dead 2
aion
Dragon ages origins
Resident evil 5 plays super smooth with xfire enabled with no stutters at all.

Left 4 dead 2 is the worst stuttering especially when u are in the safe house and ready to start a new mission, the frames plummet and if i press escape to the menu and turn off multicore game is back to normal with the occasional stutter?

I get stuttering with a few other game listed above or maybe micro stuttering not sure how to tell, ive tried loads of drivers also.
I know the 5870 is a new card and no official drivers till tomorrow,im just wondering if anyone else has a problem with xfire or maybe its windows 7 X64?
I know most games do not suffer at all when one gpu is being used.
ive tryed both standard and advanced in cat ai.
Temps are fine for both cards and dont go over 80c
ive got to the stage where im seriously thinking of selling one 5870 if this carrys on.

I read somewhere that there is little difference between xfire with 1 or 2 connectors. Hopefully the next drivers will show an improvement with the HD 5890 being released.

How are the Xfire HD5870 temps now since you changed the motherboard compared to the ud3r?

not had many replys yet?:(

just a update when i use just one gpu no stuttering at all in any games so its defo a crossfire issue?

Crossfire mate been getting the same problem today in cod WAW and bioshock. Ati need to get the acts together with the drivers. Not sure if it is down to windows 7.

It did for me with my old 8800GTX SLI set up, I had bad stuttering and reduced FPS, changing to 101 they ran sweet as a nut

I have 5870 CF with W7 and no issues at all

Have you tried altering PCIe frequency in BIOS ?
i dont believe it :)
i have just changed the pcie bus freq to 101 and my stuttering is completely gone, thanks for the great tip!
Briefly why has they solved my issues with crossfire?.

check ur other games mate with the 101 enabled and report back.

Just tried bioshock and that still has fps issues. that is an older game though. I need to install better games lol i just cannot be arsed. FEAR 2 is the most recent game i have. And i remember that ran fine with crossfire.
