Ok, got the card today, installed drivers - albeit beta 5's - Hooked up two monitors, Main Display HP to Display port , Dell to DVI.

Problem 1

When ever I move any programme, Firefox or IE for example, the DEll on the DVI stutters and flickers -swapped the DVI ports over, still does it on both, or if someone joins steam, their pop-up appears bottom right of main monitor, Dell monitors stutters/flickers.

Problem 2

Playing Modern Warfare2 game freezes CPU usage shoots up to 100% on all four cores, game goes back to normal for a bit, it then happens again, game crashes.

I'm not bloody impressed to say the least.

Are we talking shoddy drivers ?

or the card is somehow faulty ?

Everything worked perfect with my Vapor-X, I have a 700watt PSU.

This might be going back to overclockers.

Thanks in advance.

Did you completely clean the drivers prior to installing the new card?

Is your PSU a good one? I know you said 700w, but unless it's a decent unit that means nothing.

Yes I did.

would that cause screen flicker/stutter ?

I was thinking of changing it, I have a jeantech modular.

But what about the games ?

Absolutely fresh out of the oven crossfire supporting eyefinity drivers, i'd be willing to bet it's a driver issue, this sort of thing is going to be sorted as they revise the drivers.

You might be able to test that theory by disabling one of the cards, if thats possible in the driver for the 5970.

But it not eyefinity the op is using...It only dual monitors...
their pop-up appears bottom right of main monitor
That normal isn't it

Do you have another psu handy that you could use to power the card on its own?

To be completely honest i'd overclock your CPU to about 4GHz because i remember you saying in another thread that you will keeping it at stock. At stock i'm pretty sure the i7 975 will be struggling to keep up with your 5970. That will probably explain why the cores are shooting up to 100%

So far its been ok (touch wood) although the sapphire red line utilty states "Sorry, this tool is not supported on your graphics card".

Which is strange as it came with it!
