5g home internet

Hi all,
Helping my parents upgrade their internet as they're currently paying far more than they should be (over £40 for what I would call old fibre 1 (36mbps) with EE which they were moved to automatically from BT a couple of years ago)

From a quick look they can get fibre 2 (67mbps) from Sky for £23, various others for similar prices, or the other option is 3 or vodaphone 5g for £14/16, went on the ofcom signal map and 3 is good indoor and outdoor, vodaphone is good outdoor iffy indoor, but the 'performance across your postal district' shows 3 as the worst.

I had 4/5g internet a while back and when it worked it was great, however we moved and whilst in theory the signal was good we found actual speeds were awful, is there a way to get a feel for actual performance without committing to 24 months? How easy might it be to cancel if speeds are bad etc?

Anyone have any experience?

Rolling 30 days
I'm currently using talk mobile uses Vodafone £16 rolling, unlimited data no fup, uncapped speed


Also if don't use a lot of data passed 650gb - 1tb you can get Sim from scancom they usually have good deals on Amazon

So then I'd just have to buy a suitable router? Cheers will have a look.

I wouldn't know I use spare 5g phone plugged into router via usb c to ethernet

You can get very tactical and get one that lets you cell and band lock, or cheaper refurbished ones on eBay

Have you looked at broadband deals through compare sites ?

Just seems to be much cheaper from a quick check on comparison sites, let alone being potentially quicker (they aren't fussed by that really).

Ah ok, and yeah that's the only reason I've considered 5g is they came up quicker and cheaper than alternatives.
