5Ghz channel keeps dropping

Hi,

I have an Asus AC-68u router and for the past 5 days or so I noticed my tablet + Xbox one keep loosing connection for 5 seconds or so.

Deffinatley the 5Ghz channel as 2.4Ghz works ok. Have done a hard reset and update to the lastest Merlin firmware but don't have an idea what else to try.

On my tablet when connection is lost the wifi icon dissapears and when going into settings is says connected but no internet or obtaining IP address.

Any help please?
 
Hi Rensin, sorry for the issues you have been having. How far away from the router is your Xbox and tablet? If they get too far away the signal can drop off. Also 5GHz has less range than 2.4GHz but provides less noise, interference and a faster more stable speed.

Hi Will,

Have had no problems for the past 7/8 months.

Tablet is a few metres away from the router & Xbone is upstairs.
 
have been trying different channels tonight with no luck.

Also notice whilst logged into the router the temps are around 90 degrees ... is this normal
