5GHz Overclock advice

6.850s now at 5.45 GHz

I daren't show you the voltage. I poo'd my self when I loaded CPU-z up! For whatever reason the bios is always way under what CPU-z is showing.

1.560v with step 7 LLC

It's gonna be pretty high! Mine is set to 1.475 in bios and with LLC @ extreme it peaks at 1.512v under load. Temp of around 73 degrees.

Here it is, puts me at about 170th in the world :D

Looking at other on HWBot they're chucking 1.75V through theirs!!!

Maybe there's more in mine yet, BIOS settings:

CPU
5463MHz - 103.3MHz x 53 @1.56v LLC tep 7

RAM:
1924MHz @ 1.6v 9-10-10-21

Max temp of 69*C

nice one. its funny to see your temps are still that low! i want to put mine underwater one dat.

Yeah the temps are insane, That's with the fans turned up abit but there's still some ocing room :D

Nice 1 - temps seem good. Keep going! Hopefully you have contingency plans in place in the event that 1.7v kills your processor ;)

I seem to have chanced upon a voltage that my processor loves - 1.425v which translates to a peak of 1.456 and an average of 1.448 when running prime. Temps are excellent - 59 degrees after 10 mins running. This is at 4.9GHz.

BF4 should peak even less voltage on average and temps I imagine will be at least 5 degrees cooler - very happy with this result! I can't believe I am still having so much fun tweaking with this cpu that I bought over 2 years ago. Definitely no reason to upgrade to Haswell, this beast should keep me going until we see 20nm chips :p

EDIT: for my cpu @ 5.0GHz requires at least 1.475v (1.512 peak) to be stable, and temps hit 72 degrees. So it seems 4.9 is the sweet spot for this one.

Ummm, buy a 2600k I guess :D

I'd stick at 4.9, for what is to be gained there is absolutely no point in going to these extremes. I'd never had dreamt of abusing a 4570k like this but at the end of the day it's a £100 chip. Things change though if you're really pushing for a good SuperPi :D

or a 2700k if you can find one
