Would it be possible to run at these speeds 24/7 or do these runs tend to be fairly terminal on the chip? Obviously at the very least TEC would be required, if not phase or similar extreme cooling methods.

Personally not me, highest iv been to is 4.5ghz, ram limited =(, but my current cpu has been to 5ghz+ under phase from its previous owner (does that count lol).

Do you mean on any Platform, or one particular platform ?

If you have a good Phase cooler and a 920/860 etc you will get 5GHZ stable 12/24.
Wouldnt like to run the thing 24/7 @ that clock but gaming a few hours a day would be fine.

Highest ive been is 4.3ghz with my trusty e5200, highest i have actaully seen someone running is 4.8ghz on an e8600 with TRUE and some deltas D:

I'm currently on 3.8GHz with my E8500 and I've seen people reach 5GHz with this chip although they've used 1.7v and 1.624v but I'm still currently on stock voltage and I'm sure I'll get close to it.

4.768 was the fastest (BSOD within 3 secs of starting BM)
4.642 was stable enough to run SuperPi /Wprime.
