5k on no training?

You should be fine, take it easy and don't be afraid to walk. Had similar time to the1gooner back in mid-Sept and just recently did a 5k in 25 minutes dead, been running 3-4 times a week and now tend to do a 10k once a week and a couple 6-8k runs.

Read up about running form and try to avoid heel-striking as that will nail your feet and joints hard., I've been running in a pair of Vibram bikila evos and despite the sore calves for the first few weeks I'll take sore muscles over sore joints any day of the week.

Since I posted on the 12th, I've ran a grand total of 0 times.... Oops :/ This 5k run I've signed up for on the 8th is going to hurt!

Tbh anyone that isn't disabled/obese should be able to do 5k off the bat at a gentle pace with a bit of determination.

The gf is off training for a half marathon, unfortunately my knee is buggered from rugby and gives out after a few k of running on asphalt, so I stick to cycling.
