The BBC has decided to call this "Super Thursday", which almost cringe worthy enough to keep me at home and not vote.

Voting has begun, so don't forget to pop out and exercise your right to vote. Could be lots of interesting results this time, with Labour predicted to have one of its worse performances ever, the SNP set to cement their rule and use this vote to start their case for a second referendum, and the Welsh assembly possibly going into some sort of coalition

Please vote people. I left it too late to register for the locals after we moved. If you want change then its the only way it will happen.

this, pointless job which should be abolished. they all say almost identical stuff and appear to have little power.

I don't know. The current one seems to have had the power to buy 10 new speed camera vans and a load of police terminals, whatever they are.

Well given I live in such a staunchly Labour area that every other party can't be bothered to even try to get elected, I don't really see why I should bother to vote.

The town I live in is split into 4 wards and the candidates trying to get elected today are:
Ward 1 - Labour, Tory, Green, BNP
Ward 2 - Labour, Tory
Ward 3 - Labour, Tory, Green
Ward 4 - Labour, Tory, Green

Lib Dems and UKIP haven't even bothered to put forward any candidates. Lib dems haven't put forward a candidate in my ward since 2008.

How is it a democratic process when for example the people in ward 2 only have a choice between Labour and Conservative? Which here is basically a choice between Labour and nothing. People won't vote conservative because of ideological reasons, as it is a northern working class, urban area.

I certainly don't want UKIP in my area but they got 20% of the vote in the 2015 General. Why wouldn't they stick a candidate or 2 in?

For clarity I do vote in all other elections but for local I probably vote on 1 in 3 occasions.

I'll be voting when I get home from work.

Current councillor seems decent and I'll be voting for the current PCC as he's the only one I've seen say they are not sure about the Home Office's plan for FRS mergers.

Voted early this morning , had two pick 1st and 2nd choice for IPCC and then 3 candidates for the locals never voted before for council elections.
