Can anyone help me on this, my Abit EQ software is reporting that my 5vsb has dropped below the minimum of 4.5v (it's actually at 4.49 according to abit EQ)

I've dropped the minimum a little to shut up the alarm for now as I only thought that 5vsb was for waking up the pc and stuff like that.

Should I be concerned?

Abit NF7s, 2800+, 1.5gig ram

Cheers!

The software could be off but if it was reporting it as around 5v before and it has now dropped then some minor concern may be in order. The main uses for the 5V rail now is in disk drives and PCI/AGP cards as taken from here. :)

+5VSB and +5V are different

You are correct - the +5vsb is the standby voltage. Of course, I have no idea if that is actually critical but if it has dropped then it may be that your PSU is starting to show signs of age..

Only knew that because I re-read by Custom PC mag last night... had an article of PSUs... amazing how useless information seems to stay in the memory but important stuff never does :D
