6 Nations **Spoilers**

Trust me I'm not bitter, I don't even watch rugby. England, being world champion's should surely have beaten a team of Scotland's stature on the world stage.
Really, it is embarrassing - like when your football team loses to really poor oposition, you must be able to relate to that.

Scotland are on the up again though, so it isn't as much of a shock it would have been if it happened last year as under Hadden we are moving forward again and improving.

I think beating France and England in the same 6 nations shows Scotland is starting to catch up in the professional game, as we didn't adjust as well as England or France did when the game went this way about 10 years ago. Only now we are showing signs of getting it right professionally on and off the field.

Lost count of the number of times the England forwards got stopped in their tracks at the fringes, yet every time we got it wide we looked quite dangerous- so England hit the fringes again. And Again. Eventually we go wide and then Steve Thompson pops up in the inside centre position. :(

RIP English back play

Scotland defended heroicly, and once in front played for territory to good effect.
Well played.

England barely showed any spark in the second half, I can't put me finger on what the problem is but the back line just doesn't fit the ambition. I must admit in the first half there were some good signs although there was a little bit of over reaching their ability.

Scotland played ok but if this is a "great victory" the lack of ambition is terrifying. At least when Wales get it together at the moment there is a verve and flair that grasps to climb heights that may or may not be be beyond them.

There's nothing terrifying about it. Scotland simply don't have the quality of player to play an attacking game. We've got pride, grit and determination and use it to stop more talented teams getting a grip of the game. It's not a lack of ambition, it's a realisation that we have to do whatever we can to win.

Damn well said. ;)

Lack of ambition?

My backside. :p

Wahey, what I would have given to be in Edinburgh last night celebrating. Not the finest game in the world but results are what counts or at least that is what people say when they win ugly(anyone remember a rugby team winning a World Cup using that phrase a lot?) ;)

I'm beginning to sound like a stuck record about this but Italy again were unlucky in the margin of defeat, France were the better team but not by as much as the scoreline suggests.

edinburgh was the place to be last night, i've never seen a pub erupt so much as when the final whistle went, then the streets erupted, awesome night, and i must compliment the england supporters for there attitudes they were not bitter at all.

england are suffering the downside of the lifecycle of players, after winning the world cup half the winning squad either retired or got seriously injured.
scotlands squad has an average age of 26 or something, it is a young squad who are on the up, we do have the players they just don't have the confidence to be unique.

But there is no doubt in the score last night (my hangover is testiment to that) scotlands defense was second to none and we beat england in there own game panalties. it wasn't a fantastic game but it shows the potential of this young squad over the next few years.

Well it's the Ireland V Wales game today, will be a tough game for wales considering the fortnight.

Wales coach Mike Ruddock quit on valentines night due to "Family reasons" and Alfie is out injured for several weeks

If all this hadn't happened I think they'd be in with a chance, but now???

Henson is on the bench for Wales, which will probably make a big difference if (when?) he comes on. However, the rubbish that Wales have been through in the last two weeks will seriously counteract that!
I'm supporting Ireland; I just hope that O'Driscoll, D'Arcy et al pull through. I have a fiver on this!

Just turned over from the footy to watch this and see Wales are getting owned! not suprising I suppose with all thats happened to them this week.

Though one of the Irish players is looking quite seriously hurt (neck brace, stretcher, blankets) :( hope he's ok.
