Friend passed test on 12.4.12, he got 3 points last yr for speeding. He got another 3 via speedgun on the 12.4.14. Does this mean bye bye license? Does it literally go into the hour passed? Fwiw he passed in the morning two yrs back and got done at 4pm recently.

Hmm.

I'd tell him to stop speeding and phone the DVLA to check since they will receive notification about the endorsement to the license but I would have thought fine!

2 years is surely at the end of the day of the 11th. So logically should be fine?

I doubt they record the hour passed.

I think you could fight that in court if they did take his license. 2 years would have been up on the 11th technically.

No, can you request those things? He was done for 38 in a 30 first time and 59 in a 50 this time.

You've got to respond to the NIP before you get the offer. 12th April has "the friend" within the 14 day notification period.

Been pulled over 100 in my early days and let off, blatantly went over a red at an empty crossing (not trying to justify it

) a few yrs back and got stopped by a panda car. Copped to it politely without argument both times and got let off, guess i'm lucky.

I went through a newly erected (by my employer) no entry sign in a company van when making a delivery after following a misleading sign in a private car park. Police were running a sting operation that day. Talking my way out of that one wasn't an option. Ooops.

Luckily I did get an awareness course offer so no insurance hit.

If the license starts on the 12th then two years later it's 11th so should be ok.

I was wondering this too. Doe the license start on the day you pass your test or after you've applied for it. In which case the OP's "friend" could be onto a sticky wicket.

Nope it begins when you become a qualified driver. If you can prove that it's fine.
