Ok phone norwich today for cover on me and my mates little track car:

Mk2 B reg XR2 fiesta
Rs turbo engine
roll cage

5 years NCB.

Chap came back with £280 which i thought was ok.Then asked him to add my juicy 6 points(bit more than 70 mr officer) on for speeding and come back with a new qoute ......... :(

guy comes back "£280" asked him " so 6 points has not added a single penny to my qoute?" "nope" "sign me up" :D

make me wonder how much he was making on the first qoute to come back with the same amount after my 6 points?

somehow doubt this will be the case for when I renew The Evo :p

my g/fs brother had a 1.1 Saxo and rear ended some woman in an estate 2 weeks ago. Blamed it on ice and the sun but ive seen him driving!!

Anyway, because hes so spoilt his grandad has given him a polo 1.4 thats been very well looked after and has very low mileage but its about 1-2 years older than the saxo.

Quinn Direct who he was insured with on the saxo have transferred the insurance over onto the polo and not charged him any extra. I find this highly strange due to the fact that he has just had an accident!

Insurance companies are a strange lot. I was bored the other night so decided to check quotes for cars. turns out I can insure a 2003 BMW M3 for £900, was pretty impressed with that :D all i need to do know is get enough for the car lol

3points put mine up 10%! 700 to 770. Was only 56 in a 40 (DualCarriageway with cones by the side of the road)

Jammy git

ouch :(

770 seems a fair bit, what sort of post code area do you live in? or are the coupes high bracket? :)

You realise you cant use your 5 years NCB on the Fiesta as well the Evo, right?
Not with NUD, anyway. Get a decent broker and you can mirror the NCB no problem.

I have a Hatchback! :p Both are Grp 17 though

23 and only 1 yr NCB with all mods declared so not too bad, CV9 postcode which is OK i think

That's because he still has the rest of the year to go. When it comes to renewal time he'll have to pay up.

I had the same happen to me.

Had an accident in my first car (a write-off), then got another car and price was cheaper because of the actual car, then when it came to renewal it went up by £50 for each month!

Obviously I had to re-start my NCB at the renewal.

almost all companies ignore a speeding conviction.
many now ignore upto two of them.
a third, however, will almost certainly hike things up to an unfunny level.

with elephant last year my renewal was £1900. i then told them that i had got another 3 points, from 6 to 9. that made the quote £4400.

and, yes, i am not insured through them! :p
