If I acquire 6 points on my licence which I've had for over 2 years to drive a car, as I'm currently working on getting a motorbike licence, will the 6 points affect my ability to get the bike licence or are they both linked together meaning I've owned a licence over 2 years and do not lose it?

I might not get 6 points (already on 3) but I was travelling over the limit past an average speed camera.

If you lose your licence, you lose your licence. Doesn't matter what entitlements or how long you've had them.

Double edit :- 6 point 2 year thing now apparently only effects when you get your first full licence, so no, you wouldn't have any problems.
