£600 Gaming PC

I just don't see the benefit of spending money on a PC to have a dual core....even a sandy dual core...can't be overclocked much either

For £600 I would not get a AMD system, Intels new i3 sandybridge is faster:)

Wow, talk about complete spankage of an AMD quad by an Intel Dual Core

And for the last few weeks I've been recommending AMD for a few superbudget builds with the cheap phenom quads.

But they are so horribad at games, and you can simply get an I3 instead which can later be upgraded if you want to a spanking 2500k.

TBH I's simply recommend everyone to go for a 2500k as a minimum atm.

You can still upgrade that I3 CPU to a 2500k later on if you want though.

What about a I5-2300 based build?

I'd recommend paying a bit more for a 5850 though.

I think that a coolermaster branded PSU should be ok though shouldnt it?

But yes, a better one would be a good idea.

Its only over by £10 though, surely thats not too much?

And what would you think is better out of an I3 + 5850, or I5 + 5830?

IMO the graphics card is much easier to upgrade in the future if needed than the CPU is.

The difference in FPS between the 5830 and 5850 is a lot larger than the difference between i3 2120 and the 2300cpu.;)

Plus the PSU is still poor.

Its funny that, because I only picked it after seeing it on your list :D

I was trying to spec an OCZ stealthXstream in with a cheap case, but it was a bit too expensive to squeeze in.

Then I looked at what you had suggested and thought 'oh, that must be good then, otherwise stulid wouldnt recommend it' :p

Oh I missed that one, yes ok your second spec is better :)

I also included postage costs in mine though because the OP wont have free postage, you didnt.
