Alright guys.

Cousin is getting the money for a new for xmas. £600 spec doesnt need a screen, keyboard or mouse but he does need a copy of xp included. Would prefer not to overclock tbh but would like to play cod4, UT3 at nice detail.

Thanks for any advice.

Steve

This should be a very nice machine:

This spec is a good gaming pc. Any reason why you want XP, vista is just as good.

Yes the ATI 2900pro is better than a 8800gts 320mb.

mmmm he likes to play a lot of older games still like warcraft3 and stuff and having tried vista myself ive not really been that impressed with it and wasnt sure if there would also be problems with some older titles.

It's a little over...but you could downgrade the cpu if it has to be under 600. It's personal preference on the gfx card,, and aa, i beleive...

Would it be risky using the 450W version of the corsair psu on the system spec above instead of the 520?
I think it will be fine, especially since you're not overclocking. People tend to overestimate the power needs of machines, especially when folks are used to lower-quality PSUs that overrate their own power outputs. If you wanted to go beyond the budget and get the 520 it certainly wouldn't hurt.
