Ok its time to upgrade my Graphics card and wave good bye to my much loved MSI 6950 that now won't play game on ultra settings of the likes of BF4

I currently have 2560 x 1440 res So would want the best card that will run all the top new games at max settings and to last me at least 2 -3 years as my 6950 has.

I have £600 to spend.

What make and model

Should I wait then as its very important that its only a single card ! As I don't want any of this SLI stuff, maybe I should just wait another 6 months.

SLI is great. 95% of the time there are no issues ever these days. For me anyway.

If I were you and you can't strecth the budget too much, maybe try and source 2 used 780's for around £300 each

Best thing l did was go SLI 4GB 670 with 1440 put new life into the gaming and loving the 27"screen for general use as well.

A lot easier on the eye's as well when gaming get no eye strain even after a few hours gaming playing.:)

Yep, I love SLI.

One 780Ti doesn't max out all games now at 2560 x 1440, let alone for the next 2-3 years. Need to go SLI or crossfire *something decent* to achieve that.

Thought the titan might with the extra ram as the 780 has only 3GB, well just have to keep saving me pennies > 2 titans here l come.

Do OcUK take full payment in pennies?

6950 hasn't been able to max out every game over the last 2 years, so by 3 years I am guessing you mean "max every game for a year, then run them @ highest settings for another 2, but with lower amounts of AA and sometimes just the odd setting turned down".

So yea, most powerful single card is currently the 780Ti

Because they exhaust the heat? (Reference)

I'm just wondering how much noise difference and cooling to expect between a reference design and a custom cooler? Which is better at Both?

must it be a single card only?
for not much more than 600 quid (or at 600 if you shop around)
you can get 2 290 pros for xfire, assuming you have a decent sized psu to power the cards
