Hi there!
I'm trying to increase my airflow in my 600t as my GPU can get a bit toasty excuse the poor quality pic :D

Front: stock 200mm intake
Top: stock 200mm intake
push/pull: 2x Fractal design R2 silent series (These are being changed tomorrow to 2x bitfenix spectre pros)

I was thinking of swapping the top fan over for the 2x FD R2 but not sure weather to have them as exhaust or intake (or even if there will be space up top for both with the 620 in the way). Is there anything I can do with the drive cage area the gap for air to get in is pretty small , maybe I could add a 120mm fan there to give the GPU some air.

Not to concerned about the CPU temps about 74c on a nice day while gaming
but the GPU can hit its thermal throttle point of 70c. Tried different fan curves so I'm pretty sure its just the airflow into the front of the case.

Any ideas welcome!

Have you considred the front grill mod ? basically cutting it out

I'd look at upgrading the intake fans not sure the stock 200mm are that good compared to other options.

But to me 74c gaming load on cpu and 70c on gpu sound a tad highish depending on voltage and overclock of course but maybe look at re seating heatsinks with fresh paste first ?

I've got my i5 3570k @ 4.6ghz I kinda expect 74c with the antec 620 :D
GPU is at 1202mhz core / 7012mhz memory.

But have thought about the mod for sure, I hear the bitfenix 200mm are pretty awesome might have to give it a try.

Any thoughts on the top fan orientation? Cant decide if Intake or Exhaust is the best option, I swapped the fan to intake when I first got the case given that my rad can really only be placed where it is.

Back when I had my 600t I installed the fan grill on the side panel.

I was able to attach 4 fans to that and it dropped my GPU temps a lot.

It's not the sexiest of options I will admit, but if you are going for performance over looks then this will be your best bet.

I'm trying to keep it with the side window, Personal preference but I couldn't have the mesh with such beauty inside ;)

Spectre 200mm Pro :) Theyre damn good fans and move a lot of air. combine it with the mesh cut out mod and your onto a quiet high airflow winner

I live in Vietnam where it is always a little warm.

Modded my 600T for better cooling in 2 ways, firstly cut through the grill at the top, so my H100i can access fresh air (pulls air in), dramatically reduced the noise the fans (or air) were making and dropped the CPU temperature by about 8C, 5C more than exhausting.

Secondly put a 60mm fan in the side panel to directly blow air between the GPU's. It may only be small, but is pushes a shot of air right between them.

I swapped out the standard front 200mm intake fan for a 200mm Bitfenix pro and run with positive pressure, only exhausting via a rear 120mm bitfenix. May sound an odd setup, but pulls a lot of cool air conditioned air into the case and really works out here.

Cut the front mesh out, all 600T/650D owners should do this before even putting anything in the case.

New bitfenix spectre pro's 120mm installed on the antec 620 dropped CPU temp by 7c
Removed top stock 200mm fan replaced with 2x fractal design R2 silent series they where on the 620, running 1200rpm give or take..now for some reason at 1200rpm they sound loud as hell so dialed them back to around 600-800 , still tones more air than the stock 200mm!

Lamptron FC6 controlling everything nicely

Next up is cutting that front 200mm vent away (What is the best way to go about this? I don't own a dremel) and replace that 200mm with a bitfenix.

I had an idea to get rid of the drive tray entirely, I only have an SSD and a 1TB drive in there they could totally be velcro stuck to the bottom which would increase the overall airflow to the GPU (I hope).

Lastly does anyone know of a PCI bracket mount for 2x 120mm fans that could shunt some cool air to the GPU?

Top notch mate! just what i was after. I see you took the fans off your GPU, I assume there is no harm in leaving them on?

Alright, thanks i shall give it a go and report back (Although tempted to try and make my own)

Still stuck with the front mesh, whats the best way to cut it out I dont own a dremel and wanted a neat job. Was also thinking of pulling everything out the case to remove the rear mesh and top.
Bought some heat-shrink to tidy up wires too!

As of right now I have a 120mm fan balancing on the drive bay + psu, blows fresh air directly at the GPU and has brought my temps down by upto 5c game depending. Certainly enough to keep it under the 70c throttle point.

[New update]!

Bought the bracket and got it installed, It wouldn't work in the configuration you posted above, it was hitting my mobo with the fans so managed to find a work around, this way it cools the heat pipes on the side of the gpu too hopefully thats a good thing.

Removed hard drive trays entirely, SSD + HDD in my optical slots, I used 4mm bungee cord to string it up now its whisper quiet.

Inside shot with a little peak at my other hobby.

So anyway I have had a decrease in temps, now my max is 66c. Still playing around with fan speeds to see what i can achieve, But was hoping for lower.
Aside from needing a better front fan + doing the grill mod (Managed to source some u-channel trim really cheap!) I think my issue might be down to bad airflow config.

For example:
Top - Intake
Rear - exhaust
Front -Intake

This set up would seem common sense but My theory is that the top fans are pushing the heat from the GPU down into the bottom of the case and the card is just recycling warm air.

While If i was to use another config such as:
Top - Rad + exhaust
Rear - Intake
Front -Intake

If I'm correct the heat from the GPU would be able to vent out the top of the case and decrease overall temps.
Any thoughts?

Update, possibly the last for a while so thank you for all the suggestions and feel free to ask any questions

Excuse the poor quality pic just took it for representation

Top: push/pull Rad+120mm in exhaust
Rear: 120mm in exhaust
Front: Stock 200mm intake(will swap to bitfenix soon)
Under gpu: 2x 120mm blowing onto the GPU

Final temps(Depending on game, time of day and temp of my room):
67c CPU (4.4ghz overclock, been meaning to put this back to 4.6 just reminded myself)
60-64c GPU Depends entirely on game and time of day for example Team Fortress 2 58c max @5pm, sunny day. BF3 62c 64man open map, every setting on highest possible, 90FOV)

Noise levels:
I dont have anything to measure with but I can honestly say its no louder than it ever has been while gaming and with the addition of the Fan controller I have the ability to turn fans off completely when idle so thats a big plus

Idle temps:
Obviously I have no direct cold air (Aside from what comes in through the front mesh) hitting the CPU fans but even so my idle temps have only gone up by 5c for an idle temp around 37c

So there you have it, what seems a nonsensical way of orientating airflow has done the world of good for this case.

Your sorted now but when I had issues with temps with that case I switched to the mesh side rather then the window and added 2 fans and that sorted my temps out.

Yeah I had similar suggestions, My issue is that the window is one of the reasons I bought the case I just like the looks. Not using the side mesh means I get to see inside, less dust and in my opinion a side fan is never "NEEDED" its just the lazy mans solution ;)

Quick update, no pics atm.

Cut out front mesh (or butchered it out, gotta clean it up later) and installed a bitfenix spectre pro 200mm Red LED fan. The fan is really good quality, compared to the stock 600t fan it makes NO sound although in reality it does it's not bothersome and 90% of the noise is just air moving.

Temps today haven't gone over 61c.

Still using the window as proof that you don't need side fans ;)
