600T SE cracking noises

Update!

I've tightened all the screws holding the plastic window in place and it seems to have solved (or very much reduced) the cracking noises.

I'll see for sure later tonight when I have more time.

Nice tip!! Will try this on mine over the weekend. Mine does do this occasionally, annoying as I jump as soon I hear it and give the whole PC a good inspection. I think it's where its so occasional then nothing happens that I kind of ignore it once I've gave the case a quick check.

I have had a 600T (white) for 6 months and I love it.

No sound issues, the CPU is watercooled with an H60 (with a single rad push pull on the rear), but the GPU is on air (Twin frozr III 570).

Skyrim gets the fans going, but no sounds from the case.

I have the HD bays side by side on the base to facilitate air flow from the front. I do clean the filters now and again too.

Had my 600T for a week now, love it, this sound has happened once after an intense BF session

Resurrecting this thread!

My 600t side window is really annoying me now I have SLI. Tried tightening the screws but doesn't seem to help.

Does anyone know how I can sort this? :(

I know the sound you mean but it's not really anything I'm bothered about. It is heat making some of the parts expand and when they cool and contract, after you power down, it'll make the crack noise. hardly the end of the world :p

Yes, I get the exact same issue. I've kind of gotten used to it now, but that's what you get for having a case made of out metal & plastic.

The only real improvement you can make is to improve the airflow/extraction.

Does anyone use a h100i with two sp120 quiet fans with this case?

I ask because I get a slight pulsating hum when I put the top mesh on. If I remove it, then the hum disappears. What's the deal with that?

Mods done so far:
Added sticky back foam to top pop out mesh reduced all noise from top zone
Cut out front cheese hole metal, so front intake is sublime (Using Bitfenix spectre pro 200mm)
Took all the plastic surround off, covered the joints in a very thin layer of Vaseline this further reduced cracking sounds

Definitely the side window causing the sound, I tried tightening the screws and managed to thread 1 :( . After some digging it seems they used Lexan plastic for the window which is cheap and notorious for making sounds when it heats up. So the next option will be to get a new window done in decent plexi or get the full window side panel from the US unless anyone know's of a UK dealer
