Is it any good? I've just ordered one to replace my K750i (I'm on my 3rd after the joystick keeps going). Did I make the right choice? I've got until january on my current contract, so I've extended another 18 months after deciding PAYG wasn't for me. Any opinions? I got the phone for free & the contract is £20 a month for 75 minutes and 100 texts (about right for me).

I have the 6234, vodaphones branded version of the same phone.
Its a good phone and plays vid + mp3 well, volume is good too.
Phoned up vodaphone and got the unlock code free of charge :)

Its a perfect little phone, looks good, works very well, good camera, everything you need really.:)

I'm considering getting one of these. I was originally going to get one in August but stupidly got the E900 instead which I sold and went back to using my trusty 6230i again. Rather than me creating a new thread, can someone tell me if you can make the font on the 6233 bigger, especially for writing and reading text messages? This is mainly why i've held on to my 6230i as i'm a little blind you see :p

Ive come from a 6230i and 7600 to 6233 so you should feel very at home with the new nokia.

Yes you can change message font size - think you can do everything you can do with 6230i plus more on 6233.

Only one thing the 6233 does not have is where it will compleat a word while texting - but no new nokia's do that these days!

Thanks. The predictive text wouldn't bother me as I never use it.

Is it easy enough to get these unlocked so if I buy one from Orange my o2 sim will work or have Nokia made it like their recent symbian phones?

The 6233 is a BB5 handset so you'll have to purchase the unlock code from the company the handset is locked too.

I bought mine from o2 for £180 - they gave me back £15 credit and an extra 50 xmins free. O2 will unlock phone for £15 if I want it I think

I just got mine having switched from a K800i.

Great little phone, menu's are fast and responsive, it's pretty customiseable and everything works well.

I have no complaints.

Which you think is a better phone?

To be fair, both are fairly similar.

I prefer the predictive text on the SE as you get the list of potential words, whereas on the Nokia you have to press * to cycle through them, not knowing what's coming.

Looks wise, I definately prefer the Nokia. Theres no lense cover so I don't catching it on my pocket, or have to worry about the camera coming on in my pocket, and theres no joystick to break, which is the main reason I changed. Battery life seems superior on the Nokia as well.

Bluetooth / Infra Red / Connectivity are equally good on both handsets.

The Nokia has the benefit that it can play fullscreen video and record video at 640x480 but the SE has by far the better MP3 player integration.

Either are a good choice, it just depends on what you are looking for.

I moved from a k750i to a 6233 and to be honest i am very happy, the only features i miss are the macro mode and the flash but other than that i prefer the 6233 in every way, its just nicer to use, fast, responsive and has a good solid feel to it.

Video on the nokia is very good quality for a phone @ 640x480 and the camera is more than acceptable in daylight.

Well it arrived and it's lovely. They pad is so much better than my K750i and the screen is rather nice to.

Daylight photos are fine - but night ones are terrible! However the video at 640x480 is class!
