6300 or 4170

Be really careful with motherboard choice. Several of the 970's have 4+1 or 4+2 phase and do not overclock well. The board in my sig is the same way and It throws fits going over 4.2 no matter the cooling.

Someone said it had something to do with some watt limit in it or something. Can not find the thread but it was like the 970's were like 14 watts and the 990's were like 18watts or something. Hopefully that will ring a bell with someone and they can chime in as I cant find the page now.

With the AMD stuff make sure you get a motherboard with decent VRM's

As mentioned Asrock boards are renowned for poor vrms leading to throttling of the CPU.

yeh 4.2 max on my ASRock due to VRM overheating.

The extreme 4 hs a 8+2 which would be better.

If your not going to overclock or not much then they are really good cheap boards.

think I paid £75 for mine from OCUK.
