You need to run two instances of prime at the same time,

As the cpu is dual core

Just download SuperPrime2004 from the link above and run it from 2 seperate directorys at once. You should let it run for at least 6 hours though.

It ran for 8 hrs last night with no problems may try boosting speed up abit today, now i got the trouble battlefield 2 just kicks straight to desktop when i try and load a mp server.

I found that upping my ram voltage helped a lot with my bf2 CTD's.

I will try that thanx, i also saw a few threads on here about installing amd's dual core optimiser should i do that ?

I wouldnt advise it to be honest - but I think a general optimiser is built into a Windows Service Pack or Update now anyway

dont use that lol, u have an intel chip, that for amd

just testing the CPU for stability is not enough IMO. 24hrs of Prime is good, but i would suggest also running a gfx program for a few hours at the same time, perhaps leaving 3dmark 05 on loop, or try out this gpu demanding program: rthdribl.
Plus i would run Prime to test RAM as well as CPU.
Maybe even a night running memtest86.
If you do all that and see no stability problems, you can be pretty sure that all your hardware is nice and stable. Then if you still get problems running programs/games you can rule out hardware issues.

I not had any problems with bf2 since i put the ram voltage up slightly as said above, seems nice and stable was just on bf2 for a good 30 mins and no probs.

Stock is around 36/37 on each core today, load temps went upto 41/42c on the 2 cores thats ok i guess its a 2.3 gig atm.

I get kick to desktop in BF2 wether im overclocked or not. Not every time, just once in every while as soon as the map has loaded and just before the team choice pops up.

Guess what im saying is that it might not be down to your overclock.

My 6300 is currently at 2800mhz, which is the Max the Bad Axe will go to. Played BF2 for 3.5 hours yesterday without issue. Havent run an extended dual sp2004 yet, did it for about 90 mins the other night.
