ok, this is a weird one. Downloaded the latest Vista 64 drivers for my GTS. After installing, Windows reports a problem with Age of Empires (not installed) and the drivers don't appear to work leaving me with standard VGA. Tried the older .22 drivers and I get pretty much the same thing. The drivers off Windows Update do seem to work but they're pretty old now.

I "kinda" had a go at somebody else who said similar to this a week or so ago.
My argument being that with many thousands of people running 8800 based cards under Vista64 it would appear unlikely to be a driver issue.
Now you're reporting this and there is a thread on the official NVidia forums...
I run Ultimate Vista64 with a Gainward 640mb 8800GTS and the latest release drivers installed and work fine, as it would appear they do in the majority of cases.
I wonder what links those machines that are having a problem....
