Hey guys I'm a little stuck! I decided to try again to get my dodgy modem working in Slamd64, got it no problem now but I cant find anything to stress test my cpu (all 64 bits of it) under linux which is a pain cos I dual boot and want to find a nice stable oc that will be good for 64 bit(linux) and 32 bit(windows for gaming) at the minute I'm getting the occasional seg fault so I know its not quite 100% stable. Any ideas???

Thanks in advance, Damo.

You could try the Folding @ Home linux client. Although it isn't a 64 bit app, it will probably stress your CPU quite a bit. However it can take a while for it to show up as an unstable overclock (usually by Early End of Unit) but it's probably one of the better stress tests on Linux. Plus you can fold for the best team in the world! (team 10).

Solution and Folding pimpage in the one thread :D

Cheers for the hint mate but I cant run 32 bit apps am in pure 64 bit mode, I have my oc prime stable 32bit but obviously that isn't stressing all of my cpu. I did try compiling mprime but apparently due to it having a load of ASM code (whatever that is lol) it wont compile arrghhhh

PAh scratch that I'ma go back to 32 bit slackware I cant believe there are STILL no flash or java plugins for 64bit sun and macromedia/adobe need to pull fingers out of asses!!!!

Encode with h.264 or do compile X or something. I wouldn't recommend linux and overclocking anyway, especially if you are compiling stuff from source.

Hiya Riven, I went back to 32 bit slackware in the end, I have been compiling all day long with it clocked +750mhz and not a single segfault puls left it running prime for 9 hours when I was sleeping no errors - my mobo locks all the frequencys that need to be anyhow :)
