For 2 stick (dual rank), 6600 is the highest speed that MSI suggests for their boards (I checked the Tomahawk and Godlike), while ASRock's Taichi says 6000.
Corsair's buying guide on their blog suggests 6600.

Thanks for your reply and advice.
Do you happen to know. At the speeds of 6400-6600, is stability more to do with the motherboard or the processor die quality these days?
The ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI II on tech spec page does show some high OC speeds for RAM. But this is a six pcb layer motherboard, APEX is 12 plus only 2 dimms slot so really geared heavily towards RAM OC.
Don't expect to get high MHz without some manual work. Most of the time CPU IMC is going to play biggest role in tweaking RAM, besides what RAM in use and motherboard. Seen some posts on web where owners of that board have got up to 7000MHz; again manual tuning.
