65 Inch S90C 4K OLED

The smaller solar charged remote is pretty cute
I have 65" S93C (basically the same TV as yours) since Black Friday and am very happy with it. I know you don't want to fiddle with the settings, BUT:

Will save your TV from burn-in (long term)
All Settings>General & Privacy>Panel Care
Pixzel Shift - On
Adjust Logo Brightness - Low

Will let the TV run at the brightness it was designed for!
All Settings>General & Privacy>Power and Energy Saving
Brightness Optimisation - Off
Energy Saving Solution - Off
Motion Lighting - Off

The remote was frustrating the 1st few days, but now I love it!

Yes. I only got the small solar remote, whereas some variations of the TV also come with a second more traditional remote.

For the first couple of months I would press off instead of settings, for example. The buttons are just too small, have too little travel and are mostly all the same shape! Now, after 8 months of ownership I can easily operate everything without looking at it.

hey, I'm really close to pulling the trigger on this TV, does anyone else have one, anything that I should know, and, am I missing something better for around the same price £1,115 ?, I could just about afford the 77 inch version, but we'd have to move house to get it to fit one of our walls!(not happening) it's close, but it just won't fi, unless I had the radiator repositioned

thanks

I just bought the S90C last week after months of debating over upgrading my old TV. It's amazing value for money. I went with the 65" one which was a bit of a size shock at first and the wife wasn't happy at now being able to see Phil Mitchell's teeth too clearly, but it was the same when we previously upgraded from a 32" to a 50". She now loves it and I'm very happy with it as well, especially watching the football. The only reason I didn't go for the 50" is because I don't have enough BluRay's yet to take full advantage of the display and whilst streaming stuff is better, I don't feel it really takes advantage, so it probably wouldn't have felt as much of an upgrade, but increasing the size has that immediate impact.

As for settings, I looked around and it was recommended to go straight into FilmMaker mode and also set SDR contrast to around 35, but leave it at 50 for HDR. To change settings for HDR you have to be running HDR footage at the time otherwise it will be SDR settings that you are adjusting.

The only annoying thing so far is YouTube can sometimes go tiny, but it also does it when playing through the Firestick as well. I think I read that it could be a memory thing because resetting the app or powering the TV off and on fixes it. I've been playing various 4K OLED HDR stuff in YouTube to see how it performs. I did notice that YouTube via the Firestick only goes to 1080p but the TV's YouTube app will do full 4k HDR, could be a restriction with my Firestick.

Maybe, when I was in the care home, and I sneakily bought a firestick to go with the tv in the room, I future-proofed and got a 4k one just in case I needed one later, it was a wise buy because it has no problems playing 4k/uhd content. it made my life much more pleasant in the care home too, suddeenly I had a working remote , the supplied TV in my room didn't come with one.
I felt very naughty tilting the tv on the wall to put the firestick into the TV
:(

Ah that's right, I forgot that you can get a 4k version. That'll be the restriction I'm having then with my lesser non-deity HD version! lol

do you know how to check that it is on 4k output?
What is the input/app you want to check? iirc you just press up on the circular part of the remote control, then a banner appears at the top with a summary of some info, but that may just be for HDMI inputs.

For example, to check the Netflix app, you have to press the info button on the (classic) remote.

hey, I just wanted to double check that my 4k firestick is outputting 4k to the tv, because when the firestick has loaded on the tv it quicklys ays 1920x1080p at the top right of the screen I've tried to go into the firestick options to make sure that that is set to 4k, but there is no 4k option, and the net says to make sure the tv is on 4k for the option to appear
now, sure enough, when I press info, with the firestick running, the tv says 1920x1080p at the top , and I just cannot find anywhere in the tv settings to adjust the resolution, only the picture ratio! where the sodding hell is the resolution option?

Normally the resolution is set on the plugged in device, not the TV .

If you have some sort of pc or laptop, you could plug that in via HDMI and see what that shows up.

Personally I don't have any streaming stick, I just use the built in apps on the TV. Is it a particular streaming service you are using the stick for?

I'm actually in the UK today, but I'll be back in Spain by tomorrow, and can check a few more things on the TV, rather than guessing or doing it from memory today!

I run everything from the firestick, I'm a prime subscriber so I get prime tv from that, netflix, disney, and paramount plus, it's a talk to firestick, and it just works with everything, it turns thee tv on and off and works the volume too, so it means only needing to use one remote
it's just odd, when I set the firestick resolution to automatic, that gives me the highest resolution on the tv,1920x1080p at 60 hz, , and if I put it on 1080p at 60hz, then that is what is shown on the tv too, which makes perfect sense, there is just no blummin 4k option on the firestick, even though it is a 4k stick, and is fully updated, but yeah, the internet says that I should have the tv set to 4k, if there is no 4k option on the firestick, damn it!
let me know when you geet back to spain, and in the meantime, I will carry on looking into the whole thing!
Enjoy the football my Dude.I guess that you can't really lose, considering!
adios :)
