65" OLED + Sound System Recommendation

Well with the change in stamp duty costs, I've just saved £15k on the house purchase. So going to splash out a little more on this setup.

I'm going to go for the 65 CX. For the Sound system, I can then put him around £1,500-£2,000 (maybe even a little more for something good). I still want to do via eArc and get a really good Dolby Atmos setup, just no idea where to start. What would people suggest with the change in budget?

Just get pros in to do it all for you and I like monitor audio as a brand and I like the look of their speakers too.

Pros should be able to recommend a system suitable for the room.

Which is a big issue as a lot of sound systems sound completely different in different settings.

Also get them to calibrate the TV or get a pro in to do that.

Monitor stuff looks good, I also like DALI.

Richer Sounds can demo some for you if you can get in one via appointment? Best way to experience them really.

I think I started with a reasonable 5.1 system + AVR for a bit over £1.5K, and for that kind of money you can get something that is decent. Spending a bit more should give you a slightly better result, but I'd personally not spend north of £3k on speakers.

Bear in mind that a good speaker setup should last a while though, probably even through to your next TV purchase, so doesn't necessarily hurt to spend a bit on a good set.

You're putting a lot of faith into so-called 'Pros'. That's like asking a car dealer to decide which car to sell you, this will only end one way.

As said, the OP needs to go demo some setups (at the shop and at home) and decide for himself what sounds best for the money. He needs to take what the so-called experts in the shop tell him at face value, and do his own research in parallel.

I went from a KEF setup to Dali Ribicons in the end, completely topping my budget. But I auditioned them along side 3 other pairs of speakers and had them at home for a couple of weeks too. I went for what I thought sounded best, someone else may have picked differently. Still very happy with them a year later.

With £2k, I'd go second hand. You'll get tremendous value.

I'm not talking about a shop I'm talking about pro home cinema installers who are independent and have nothing to gain from selling you anything they just do the install.
