I managed to get a bit more money scraped together for my build and I'm looking at about £650'ish inc. postage.

Only need case and its contents as I have a tv and monitor for screens and all the other things, mouse keyboard etc..

Don't think I'll get an os at this point as I'll just use the previews and then get Win8 when its released.

Thanks
A.

Thanks for the spec.

Just wondering about a few points,

I'm going to need a decent bit of case cooling as the case is stuck under a desk so I was looking at either the Zalman Z11 case or the Xigmatek Parthenon(?) case?

Does the latency of the ram make much of a difference as theres C9 ram for about £5 more?

Does that cpu cooler come with a second bracket so I could add another fan for a push pull arrangment so I could keep the fan speeds down abit?

You can pick whatever case you want, you have to look at it all day.

Ensure it will take a ATX board, the cooler height and GFX card lenght.

RAM latency doesnt do much for these sort of chips.

That heatsink will take dual fans, the board does have good CPU/System fan control.

You are better off with the Z9 than the 11. There is a new Z9 that has front USB3 ports OCuk dont stock it yet though :( The shinobi case is nice and on offer though :)

The 612S is out of stock but its a good quiet cooler that can take 2 fans and includes the adapters to do so.....no crap wire clips ;)

The Xigmatek does take two fans and uses rubber anti vibration mounts;)

Also the VTX 7850 is clocked higher;)

Thanks.

Why do you say the Z9 is better as I'm more tempted by the funky look of the z11, also it has 2x usb3 ports?

I have no idea why, he aways suggests it.

Heres a Z11 video -

Not always, I suggested it for budget gaming rigs in the past but I use other cases in specs depending on requirements....I dont like you hinting that I just use one case for all specs :(

It has plenty of fans, digital temp display, 2 channel fan controller and includes an extension for the aux mobo power. I've stopped spec'ing it lately as for one it's too dear here and secondly as i said there is a new version that has USB3 ports at the front....if i was going to buy the Z9 i'd want the updated version which isn't stocked here.

The Z11 isn't as well spec'd as the Z9. The gills on the side have smaller fans with no filters. So it will be louder and just scoop air into the case.

The Z9 isn't perfect but lots to like for the price. The shinobi is a good case, I've spec'd it today a few times as it's on offer. Case is a personal preference so I'm not going to argue over it too much.

P.S

Stulid suggested cooler can mount a second fan as can many others. It includes rubber rivets to secure the fan which is nice as it reduces vibration, im not a fan of the wire clips. Note in the pics I can only see four of the rubber rivets so keep that in mind if you want to add another fan. I suggested the 612S as it includes everything you need to add a second fan from the get go.

Thanks, I took a look at the Zalman Z11 review and didn't like the fan arrangement at the front, I'll probably go for the Pantheon one then.

Although the bit fenix looks good and I could afford a few extra fans for it.

Comes with two fans already fitted, thats actually pretty good for its price range, usually you get just one.

Neither card would be left at stock I'm sure so the initial clock speed isnt that important.....my GPU came with games for £5 more ;)

I did like your spec, I understand you are balancing it to the budget. I'm just showing some alternatives for the OP to consider

Do you know the OP's thoughts? thats a great skill to have;)

This isn't his first thread for a build, you have spec'd him before. Considering he is looking at an i5K on the Z77 and asking about using two fans on the heatsink you don't need to be a mind reader to figure out he might just want to overclock ;)

Yeah I'm going to overclock this setup.

What fans should I look to get to add to the bit fenix case and the heatsink?

You can stick with Bitfenix. They do good stuff. You could add one of these which keeps the blue theme going with the white and blue case.

Sorry Stulid.......You were saying :P
