6600k cooling OC

Stuck between coolers to get for my 6600k at 4.5GHZ. Currently have a H80I, cooling is okay but it's kind of vibrating and the threads are worn completely...

I'm looking at the Noctua Dh-15, does it get loud? is it good cooling compared to the H80I? I've read some reviews but most are different.

I want quiet but efficient cooling, budget £80?
Thanks!

Top air is just as good as H80, if not a little better. But you need to pay more attention to case airflow with air cooler to insure they are getting cool intake air.

NH-D15 is a good cooler and Noctua is a good company, but there are others just as good and some are lower priced. It is also quite wide and often blocks top PCIe socket when others will clear it. The D15S helps this.

Phanteks PH-TC14PE is just as good and £69.98

New Alpenfohn Olymp is a couple degrees better in reviews than D15 for £49.99

SilverStone HE01 is couple degrees warmer for £44.99 It's use of a single fan give great RAM clearance and the 38m thick fan is quiet below 1300rpm, but can be ran at high speeds for those super hot days or high overclock test runs.

Another top contender is Cryorig R1 coolers, but OcUK does not stock them. They have great looks and RAM clearance.

Another is Thermalright Silver Arrow IB-E, expecially the Extreme version. It is offset for better PCIe clearance and Extreme version with it's 2500rpm fans is very quiet up to 1300rpm. Performance is like D15 and others up to 1300rpm, but give 5-8c more cooling at full speed when needed .. assuming case fans can supply the addec cool air needed to keep up with demand. ;)

I have a BeQuiet Dark Rock TF on my 6600k and temps are under 60 on full load at 4.6ghz so any high end cooler will be fine.

I forgot be quiet! They are very good coolers. Some complain about their mount style and the sacrifice a little in temperature to be super quiet. Look great too.

I have a Heligon HE02 passively cooling my CPU, not sure how it fares with a fan strapped to it as I have to orientate it such as to not block the PCIE slot which means I can't get the fan on. Good cooler though.

Delid drop 15+ C instantly!!

Sorry, but that seems a bit of an optimistic drop in temp, even on a heavy overclocked

At last it is compared ot my 6700k idling in low 20s@ 400-500rpm and peaking 60-63c@ 850-950rpm rendering graphics at 93-99% load .. so much load I can done nothing but surf and answer emails. :D It's under a TRUE Spirit 140 Rev.A with stock TY-147A fan.

But I do have a quick question. When my 6700 was first used it ran almost 10c hotter than it does now (no overclock yet). Same cooler, Bios, etc. Over a few months use with occasional heavy use rendering and testing it seemsto seat in and give lower temps. Now I mount and re-mount coolers a lot (testing requires it) and I used a couple of differnet coolers, so I know it's not the cooler to IHS seat, but maybe the die to IHS? Reason I know it's not the cooler seat is because I run a before and after with test cooler (TRUE Spirit 140 Rev.A for test verifcaton. They are the same before and after each test run .. at least too close to verify a change. Some may be 1c or less cooler on after test verification, but I can't montior everything close enough to say that for sure. This drop was too low to record in test sessions, but the end result is after a few months it's running much cooler than when new.

Antec H600 for £40 keeps a 4.7GHz i7-6700K @ 1.366v, at 60C or under (Realbench, Cinebench, Firestrike). 6600K with same OC would likely be a little cooler.

What temps were you getting with the H80i?

I almost got that, but went for the NZXT x41 instead, which I'm pleased with. Keeping my 6600k at 4.5 / 1.3v at max 59deg (realbench stress) in a mini ITX case.

Using my case 200mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro as push (3pin, running from board chassis fan header) and the stock fan as pull, set on NZXT CAM "silent" profile, its pretty quiet too.
