there both the same price but ive been put off of ati cards from my nvidia commited friends, i fancy borderlands 2 and it comes free with the 66ti, but i cant base my entire decision on that even tho itll save me 20 quid lol, any advice would be helpfull

cheers

to me there pretty much similar and its the kfa 3gb 660ti ive been looking at, not sure how much orf a difference it makes? the 660 only loses on crysis which i dont play, whats best for overclocking?

Been having this discussion within my thread in the graphics card section.
The 7950 would be the best, 3GB Vram for multimonitor set ups, lower overall clocks, so better OC capability and KFA2 only offer 2 year warranty, everyone else offers 3 years minimum.

But dont forget, Borderlands is tailored to Nvidia, so they will always perform that little bit better than the AMD equivalent.

2GB is plenty enough assuming you only have one screen. Thats the one I would go for if I was getting a 660TI. Its begging to be overclocked though ;)

Yes the 7950's are the better card, but only if you are going to overclock them. If you are going to be running at stock, the 660TI is faster. If you want to get the best bang for buck, get the 7950 and we will help you overclock it. Get a good one with a good cooler.

yeah im just running it thro my tele, 7950 seems to be very popular, theres an msi forzr 3 one looks good

660ti is a good card, but overclocked or not the 7950 perfoms better.

If you ever have second thoughts about overclocking bare in mind with a voltage tweak you can overclock the 7950 to come within 5% of an overclocked 670, or in some cases match it.

yeah i see where your coming from, the msi one in the link above looks really good, and fits in my case (brucey bonus), ive an 15 3750k thats not over clocked but obviously if i wana clock it in the future the 7950 would be best suited to keep all my system top end?

I'd say so yes (for your budget anyway). The msi I linked to comes with a 7970 PCB, so it's your best bet really.

Eh? Surely you mean 680 not 670? Because otherwise, that's not actually true.

A 7950 at 1Ghz (which is a conservative overclock for a 7950) will be along side a stock 680 in most things.

Why would I mean a 680?

I said an overclocked 670, not stock.

An overclocked 7950 with voltage tweak will reach further than 1Ghz in most cases with an aftermarket cooler.

oc 7950 / oc 670

looks like im buying borderlands seperate, ati comes with crap games, ive a g27 that i could use on dirt but im thinking of putting it on ebay! 7870 overclocked is better than a 660ti as well by the looks of it as well, bot 80 quid cheaper as well

Wow so if I have read correctly what rexton linked if all three were over locked (660ti,670 and a 7950) the 7950 will compete with the 670? And that's in bf3? I thought nvidia cards perform better in bf3 lol.
