£666 ram anyone?

Can't say I wouldn't - once bought 2 kits of OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8000 Dual Channel Titanium Alpha XTC Series DDR2 (over £300 per kit) on release fortunately there was compatibility issues with the first revision and I ended up returning it and buying a g.skills kit for under half the price.

People buy titans and 295s for mental money.

Yeah but you do get a lot for your money on high end graphics cards which is great if you're running multi monitor setups and want all your games to run at ultra. I personally don't see any real point in paying silly prices for RAM as there is no real benefit in it. Unless you're a benchmark whore with money to burn of course.

You wouldn't see me buying it, could make a whole semi decent build for that price, some silly people will though. Unless you are a multi millionaire then it is just a waste of money.

its not even that fast, ddr3 is faster

But DDR2 is even faster than DDR3!

Anyway, It's only a little bit more than current price for high speed DDR3.. and people are buying that, so why the hell would they not buy DD4 if they can afford it... it is DDR4 for crying out loud.

Why is everyone so caught up with the price??
It's actually pretty decent if you're comparing against DDR3 (no idea why, different beast....)

Anyone seen the price of 32gb of 3ghz DDR3? Tad more than £666 ;)
Prices will also come down when more come to market.

Because people are idiots

Nice ad hominem to most of the people who posted here including myself.

If you think spending £666.00 on RAM is normal then I would suggest you are either trolling or like wasting your money.

Almost everyone gets by just fine spending £50-£100 on RAM, so obviously when we see RAM costing £666.00, it raises a few eyebrows. Has nothing to do with being an 'idiot'.
