£666 ram anyone?

All due respect you bothered buying into a custom built PC and paid less, but also got lax slow Vengeance modules instead.

Being stupid doesn't come into it, If someone buys premium memory kits it's because they want the best and or appreciate the technology behind it. This is overclockers after all.

Just because you've only gone the half hog and bought slow RAM doesn't make other enthusiasts stupid. :) the whole PC scene is 'stupid' if that's your attitude :)

Thanks for the insults :)

This whole thread smells of an old troll.
Why bother, OCuk clearly stated this is a placeholder price and is likely to drop.
First pieces of new technology are always expensive.
Look at those insane prices of Mushkin pci-e cards.
Technology will get more popular, prices will drop.
Move along people, nothing special here...

whats wrong with vengeance memory? for gaming the difference between 1333mhz and 3000mhz is probably less than 1fps. it looks good as well.

the fact that 295's and titan z are at market says that people are willing to pay so ram wont be any different. if numbers on your memory modules matter more than the numbers on your bank balance then these £666 modules are for you.

Nothing is wrong with it. I said it's slower.

I love how people keep bringing 666 up. I bet you wouldn't pay half that. Also i would suggest doing some research before poo pooing everything that costs more than base spec memory.

Haswell memory scaling in gaming is quite good. I see you've overclocked your sticks, must matter some to you then ;)

I'm not knocking expensive memory if you've got the money you buy I BMW 5 series not a Vauxhall insignia.

My CPU overclock is partly on fsb hence the memory being 1920mhz. They are 1866mhz sticks and that's the closest multiplier to the rated speed. I've tried them at 1333, 1600, 1866, 1920 and 2133mhz and never noticed a difference.
