670... first thoughts

Well I have a 670 so I know what it scores :D . I've compared to other peoples results and it is exactly what it should be. Don't see why someone would say there is something wrong with my computer :/

Here is stock @ 1920x1080

You know if your computer is functioning as it should. I was just assuming from looking at 670 scores on the heaven thread and seeing quite a few of them beating 680's easily. I wasn't having a dig, just me maybe expecting too much.

I know you weren't having a dig, I was aiming my post more at andybird :)

Overclocked at 1920x1080 it scores over 2,000.

stock settings, 1080p, 4x,4x normal tess, I get 1880
EVGA standard (I even opened my case to make sure I had the non-SC one selected and cabled up)

I've got a 3930k at 4.5ghz but it shows very low usage during a heaven run so I didn't think it would have much if any effect on the score

Well if your sure your cpu isn't increasing it then you must have a 680 in disguise ;)

I remember in the official gtx 670 thread when everyone posted their stock heaven scores and it was always 68 or 69 fps. Factory overclocked cards were only 1 or 2 fps higher as they don't come with the memory overclocked which is important for increasing 670 performance.

Try with these settings on stock and let me know what you get.. 1920x1080 8AA 16AF tesselation extreme.

Dear god, OP's CPU needs to get overclocked! Silence in golden? Leave all the power saving stuff on and the fan will only ramp up when under load when you're playing a loud video game!

Do you have the stock cooler on it or something? Spend £20 on something half decent! :P

here's my (odd) advice:

Return the 670 under DSR and get your £350 back, buy a i5 3570K (£167.99), a 2x4GB 8GB memory kit (£34.99) and a Z77 motherboard (£75.98). You have £75.98 left (if you don't want to OC you can get a B75 board and have £100 left) sell your old CPU for ~£50 plus whatever you get for the MB/ram, say at least £75 total, you now have £150 (£175 if B75), buy a 560ti or a HD7850 depending on your preference, sell the GTX280.

You have change left over and are in a much much better position than you are now (the 670 is total overkill at 16x10 res).

I like this idea though ;)

45.9FPS 1165 score
looking at afterburner, even set all to 0 my boost is ramping up to just over 1130ish most of the time

Well I just had a crawl through the gtx 670 thread and found these 1920x1080 heaven scores. They all score lower than yours yet they are factory oc cards  . Now I can sleep peacefully knowing there is nothing wrong with my computer like you said
