Not really, a 4 year old card with no warranty that's not that much faster and costs about as much 2nd hand isn't a great deal at all, also that's a card that's been used for 4 years and could well have been heavily mined on.

No 2080ti is more than 2x faster than a 6600 rather than not that much faster, and certainly out performs the 6700 mentioned by a very wide margin.
Failure rate is a reasonable concern, but you would expect most cards that will fail to have failed already per bathtub curve.

Yes, much faster than a 6600, but it doesn't outperform the 6700XT (which he mentioned initially) by very much at all, given that, and given the relative cost, plus it's now a very old card, plus no warranty, plus it may have been mined on, a brand new 6700XT was easily the better choice.

Where are you getting your benchmarks from? 2080 Ti overall faster? yes. Very wide margin? No.
You're mixing 6700 XT and 6700 and it's very confusing
The OP wanted to buy a 6700 XT, not a 6700. Are you saying the 6700 is 25%, or the 6700 XT?

Yeah, at £699 with Starfield included for the 7900xt pulse, I felt it was right on the fringe of acceptable so I bought one, but £799 with no starfield = nope! (and I wouldn't have bought starfield yet otherwise, so at most would place around £20 value on that personally)
Edit: also would have been perfectly fine with a 6700xt (or my previous 3060ti), if it wasn't for ARK:SE, which is poorly optimised AF but for my sins is one of my favourite games! Nice to be able to almost max out RDR2 at 4k though

10% is pretty marginal in reality. Nothing you would really feel in games.
We're talking about a 6700XT, not a 6700, and neither 6700XT or 2080ti are cards you would buy for RT in 20203. That marginal short term performance gain is not going to be worth much if the 2080ti gives up the ghost in the near future is it? But then again it's not your £300 down the u-bend is it?
