Hi Guys
My nephews 6800 GT has just blown up and I need to replace it on a very tight budget. Can someone tell me which modern GPU (ATI or Nvidia) is equivalent to this card performance wise. Baring in mind it must be AGP.

Thanks

7600GS is a little slower, 7600GT is better.

Or a X1950Pro AGP if you want kinda the best.

I have seen a point of view card for sale. Is this a trusted brand. I am a little concerned that thier website say the card had DDR 2 ram when other brands state DDR 3.
Its very hard to find a cheap AGP card.

The more modern equalivant of 6800gt is 6800gs. No idea whats on the market brand new but a good example (extreme editions or just home clocked) of that card gets 6000 in 3dmark05 which is pretty decent.
You will probably find the 7 series more available but its no better imo unless you start paying top dollar

Keep an eye out in the MM you could pick up a nice X1950pro/GT for around £70-£90 I got a X1950Pro for £80 Del top card :) pretty much unbeatable on the good old AGP tech.

A new Leadtek 7600GT can be got for around £75 these days. :)

£60 if you're willing to go with a OcUK branded one. Not sure what they're like though.

the OcUK one is only in PCI-E
and the Leadtek one is out of stock everywhere until next month.
As im replacing this card for him, I really can stretch further than a 7600GT and I think the Leadtek would be the best choice. I think as he is playing on a 17" TFT this should be ok. Its a shame OcUK have not got one.
Thanks for all the advise. :)
