now the new tomb raider game is what im playing. and it runs wonderfully at 1280x960 with AA and all details at max except for one option: the enable next generation content.

and when i enable that, it cripples my card. even at 640x480 with no AA its laggy.

need more SHADER POWER!!!!

from what i saw i doubt even the new genration cards like 7900/x1900 would handle that setting well. unless im underestimating thier power.

I've not got the game but know someone who has played it on a 7800GTX, and it runs OK, but can make the gameplay quite slow where there's lot's happening on the screen. I've got to check this game out though for myself and see if it runs well on a 7900GT. :)

games gfx are amazing, and its very well programmed. only the next generation content KO;s my card. but even without it the gfx look amazing.

when lara goes into and out of water her skin shines with the water on it. (shader model 3.0 on the case) and its really got to be seen to be appreciated.
i enabled the next generation features option and the water looks proper realistic. although it hurts my framerates like mad. and the softshadows look wonderful.

this game makes good use of the gfx card and unlike games like battlefield 2 and FEAR you can look at the gfx and they tell you why they are running slow. because the quality is top notch.

unlike the aforementioned badly programmed crappy games.

top gfx i have to say. shadermodel 3.0 is really paying off. glad i bought this 6800 card. it really is a nice bit of kit.
