Hey,
I just recived my "MSI ATI Radeon HD 6850 Cyclone Power Edition"
from overclockers.

I pluged it in and istalled the latest drivers and it doesnt pick up my second monitor. i have never had this problem in hte past with other grapics cards.

It must be the card as my computer doesnt even pick up the monitor at all!
There are to DVI ports in the back a "top" one and a "bottom" one, both monitors work in the top one, on there own but nothing happens when i plug anything it to the bottom one.
I use ultra mon aswell i click enable second monitor but it does nothing.

What do you think??

Cheers Sean

i have just read this

6k series cards will not drive two Analog VGA monitors. They only have 1 analog out.

I have to VGA monitors using the adaptors to DVI. is that a problem?

Hmmm im not liking this i have 3 monitors all the same, all vga is it posible to use a vga to hdmi adaptor? with these cards?

You're a bit screwed unless the card has 2 DisplayPorts. OcUK say it has 2 but MSI say it only has 1.

You can use a VGA adapter on the DVI-I connection for first monitor.

You can use an (active) DisplayPort to VGA adapter for the second monitor.

DVI-D and HDMI are digital only so you can't use those.

There's no way to connect the third monitor.

Hey Surveyor,

i dont need to run 3 monitors, long story...... but i ended up with 3 but only need to run 2, whats a active display port?

There's a list of AMD supported adapters here.

For 3 monitors you definately neen an active (powered) adapter.

If you're only using 2 monitors I'm not sure if you'd get away with a cheaper passive adapter.

An alternative is to return the card and buy an equivalent Nvidia card with 2 dual link DVI-I connectors as you can then use VGA adapters on both.

But 2 monitors would be the maximum you can connect to an equivalent Nvidia card.
