Was working fine earlier, (few hours ago) although I didnt test for long, now getting atikmag bluescreens when trying to play bf3. Any ideas?

Test each card separately to see if there's a problem with a particular card.

You could also try swapping the Crossfire connector and making sure the power cables haven't come loose.

Tried swapping the ends around, power cables etc, all different types of drivers etc, its odd. Heard a lot of people getting problems though, my system was running fine without the second card. Hopefully its a driver issue

They seem to have different bios versions according to GPU z, they both work fine as single cards, tried them in both slots but together they artifact all over the place and have horizontal lines going mental down the screen like refresh rate looking.

The BF3 artifacting on CF is not surprising sadly. I get it wil CF 5850s

I have the HAWK 6870s in crossfire too and I had the atikmpag.sys BSOD error. Seemed to go away after clocking my 2500k back to stock and lowering my ram back to 1333mhz. Try different gpu drivers too. Oh and, try removing msi afterburner.

Nah mate, havent tried going back to 4.5ghz yet, I think i had too many weird options enabled on the overclocking menu though so not entirely sure what the cause was.

Ofcourse I dont blame you for wanting to keep your high cpu clock, but we're trying to break down the possibilities here.

Its worth trying mate
