6870 only powers 1 VGA monitor :(

Just fitted a new 6870 for my son today.
he has 2 cheap montiors, both VGA only.
It seems the bottom DVI slot on the card is digital only.
There are lots of posts about the same problem, but no solution I can see apart from swap the card or buy new monitors
Can analogue VGA be converted to DVI ?
I tried an active display port adapter but that appears to be digital only ?
Any ideas ?

Did you get 2 of those above ? as these should work on both monitors i think

Hi,
I have tried the DVI-I adapter but I think it only changes the shape of the pins, it doesn't convert a digital signal to analogue. The only converter I could find is £ 252.99..
So far only solution I can see is to drop down to a 5770

I would need a matching pair and not too keen on spending that much more,
they are only 18 months old and run at 1920 *1080 already so not much of a gain
