6950 waterblock

hi there,

I have my 6950 coming 2morrow in the post and i want to put it in my custom waterloop but i can't
seem to find them any where on the net but i have found loads 6970 blocks.
So my question is does a 6970 waterblock fit on the 6950?.

Reference 2GB 6950 and 6970 cards are the same layout so you can use a 6970 block.

Not sure about the 1GB 6950's.

If you've bought a non-reference card then the layout will be different. I also believe they can't be unlocked.

yep im using the 6970 EK block on my 6950.

Irrelevant, but why change from CF HD5850s to a single HD6970?

You'll take a significant performance hit.

That said, when prices drop you can put another in there and that will be faster
