Want the best performer of the two

thanks

thanks, at the moment i have 1680x1050 but looking to go full 1080p in the following weeks, i like my games maxed out obviously ;) but still a little confused on what to go for, i am looking to order tomorrow guys so please let me know what you all think :/

cheers

definately not going for the 6950 after recent finding outs of warrenty being void and problems such as bricking or something once flashed?

yes its not an instant bricking thing but it develops relatively fast....

games i currently play include:

Dirt 2 which i want to play max and smooth so badly lol
Crysis 1, warhead and 2 when its released!!!!
Call of duty (not demanding i know)
Battlefield bad company 2 and vietnam soon

and whatever else is in the pipeline for the future :P

cheers guys really appreciate this

ok a possible problem... my PSU only has 6 pin power chords to go to the GPU i have at the moment... which card out of the two requires more than 2 six pin connectors?

thanks

actually, how long is it in comparison to a GTX 285 i already have?

converned about space lol

thanks

thanks guys, GTX 570 ordered and will be in the PC wednesday evening :)

will report back with a little review on the performance and comparison of the new to the old

cheers

cool :D excited and can't wait for it :)

I am really looking forward to Dirt 2 maxed out and butter smooth :)

i know it has enough power its a Cooler Master Modular 700W

already looked into it and i am not a complete computer noob ;)

just wasn't sure in the graphics department area as not needed a new one for an age

thanks

thanks guys, i went for the MSI GTX 570

will be overclocking but only keeping the clocks if it ends up being a worth while fps difference :)

also in the market for a new cooler for my CPU though, H70, H50 or cooliet ALC ?

thanks

Well ive got the card and seen the framebuffer is quite low :( lower than my old GTX 285 :(

Anyways, its just been fitted and updated the drivers and about to go test it out on some games, crysis will be this evening though.

One small annoyance is the mini HDMI out is too close to the side of my case (Antec 900) and so i can not fit the mini to full hdmi adapter that comes with the box, a bit ****ty i think on MSI's behalf :/

Anyways, im off to go play and let you know how it goes.

Ok quite impressed :D

Dirt 2 before on a GTX 285 maxed out with 2xAA and stock CPU speeds in DX 10 mode = 40fps or so at its best

Dirt 2 now on a GTX 570 at stock speeds, DX11, maxed as can be = 50fps average :)

Yay :D

Wouldn't say it was a no brainer Ezyryder, as stated i have not been into computers for a few months properly and so wanted to get some up to date knowledge on the stuff and from people who already own them.

Anyways, happy with the purchase so far :)

Also played Crysis 2 on the PC already (not my PC) and with it being more optimised than Crysis i would say the Card has a a bit of life in it for now, i know full well something twice as good will allways be coming out as ever with computers :(

Nope i mean Crysis 2 :)

Played it at a convention in Bradford a couple of months back, its an excellent game so far that i played :D

Most definately looks like a PC game, plenty of action and i can't recall any slow down FPS wise, most deinfately had AA on and all the rest of the shinies allthough a little disapointed as the environment didn't seem as destroyable as what i had seen in youtube demo's :/

thanks and ive already modified crysis in the past ;)

Sears for Joker face texture crysis on youtube and or crymod you should find it.

a little problem at the moment, in msi afterburner it is not allowing me to alter teh core voltage settings :(

i haveunlocked teh voltage controll and restarted the program but still nothing, any help?

thankyou tommy :) now it works

what would the highest / safest temp be for a card like this?

Currently clocked at 1063/850/1700/2000 and was hitting 80 degres with 65% fan speed :/

Ran it in furmark and seempt fine for 2 mins full load

thanks, just been playing Dirt 2 with the settings as stated above butthere is an annoying high pitch squeel coming form the card, if i leave it running at default speeds then there is a slight squeel but you loose notice of it...

this squeel was on my old card too but its only in games and was tollerable so never worried about it i think its the capacitors or something :S???

but this time with a new card and a minor overclock its just unbearable :(

any advice?

thanks
