Hey, i've recently started having problems with my graphics card (Powercolor HD6970) when playing a game after 10 mins or so the screen freezes for 10secs then i get the message 'Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered' and whilst playing duke nukem the game crashes and i get a message along the lines of idirect3d buffer lock failed. Only games that seem to work fine are Portal 2 and WoW both with everything maxed.

I've used driver sweeper to remove the old drivers and gone up one by trying from catalyst 10.8 to 11.6(current) and have the same problem. I don't think it is overheating it goes to about 65-70 max.

Power supply is Corsair HX650.

If i swap to my GTX285 i have no problems at all. This is only recently aswell it has been fine for a few months.
Any ideas?

Nvidia drivers on an ATI system.

I would boot into safe mode
Open driversweeper
Clear ALL display drivers (AMD and NV)
Reboot
Install latest AMD drivers only
