Hi guys i recently upgraded my monitor to a 23" Passive 3D. And my HD5850 is starting to struggle in games at 1080p in high settings.

what i want to know is will the 6970 come down to around the £200 mark when the new GPU's are released? as i will be looking to upgrade.

Would i see a noticeable improvement with a 6970 from a 5850
? thanks.

I guess i will justturn a few settings down and make do with my Card for now. I only want diablo 3 this year anyway and my system will max that no problem.

Was it one of those LG 3D monitors I saw elsewhere for £145 that you got RedTop89?

If so, do the games only run at 24fps or is it higher?

In answer to your question, I don't think the price will drop by much, especially if Nvidia don't shift their prices when the 7970 releases.

Gibbo said that the 6 series replacement won't arrive until March, normally they would drop, but because of the high 7970 prices, they might stay the same.

It is the LG D2342 monitor mate, and i don't know what the other guy is saying about it limiting to 24fps with a HDMI because i play Skyrim in 3D with 30+ frames in the wilderness and 50+ in dungeons. the HDMI has not limited the frames at all and the LG says to make full use of the Monitor features you should use HDMI 1.4. i know my card does not have a HDMI 1.4 but i still se no limits to frames when using it.

Its a shame about the prices really i would have thought they would come down.
