Considering buying the new Crucial Real SSD c300

Is 6/gb/s gonna make that much difference?

Only if you have a motherboard that supports Sata 3 or an add in card. The difference is pretty large.

well the motherboard in mind is either the asus R3E when it finally comes or the asus p658d which both support sata 6gb/s but how much of a difference?

3Gb/s gets you around 290MB/s, I believe the read speed of the drive is 355MB/s, so not really much in it. Write speed is much lower and won't be affected.

After having mine run at 3Gb, then at 6Gb, whilst both fast, the 6Gb is noticeably much quicker.

yes that should be the case - however benchmarks show the 6gb/s drives slow right down into the mid 100mb/s on a sata 3gb connection.

this should work great with 4 of the new 6gb/s crucial drives

Such speed may be useful if you spend all day shuffling large files around, but for games etc... you won't notice the difference.
