Hello evryone, this is my first post on this forum and I am an absolute beginner. I am building my first P/C and ordering parts from O/C . I have ordered a mother board that supports 6Gb sata, my question is this : if I order a hard drive that is also 6Gb will this allow the P/C to boot up and run programs faster, I will be using windows 7 64bit.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am trying to learn.
Thanks

Depends on the actual speed of the drive, as 6Gb/s SATA (SATA3) is the connection type, not the actual speed of the drive. Conventional hard disks are not fast enough to require SATA3, and wil perform just as well on a SATA2 connection. Solid state drives are another matter though, but if your an absolute beginner, your probably not considering one of those, and unless your wanting to spend £115+ for 64GB of storage, you won't get a drive that is faster on SATA3.

Hope it helps and isn't too confusing, ask for any clarification if wanted :)
