So I just dropped my 6p and now the screen is even more cracked than before.

What am I best off doing? Repair (screen replacement) last time I checked cost close to £200, so it seems to make more sense to buy something else instead? If so, any suggestions? I quite like pure android, but pixel 2 is a good 6 months away and the pixel seems quite expensive without a significant upgrade over the 6p? Open to other android suggestions. Phone is mostly used for music, video playing and general browsing. Would like a big screen size.

If repair still makes the most sense, then will consider that. £200 just seems crazy :s

Ignoring the fact that the Oneplus 5 will be out this summer, today the 3T is a great buy. It's pretty close to stock android and running 7.1.1 for just £400.

I love my 6p,love all the rom's etc and pure android,if it was me,I'd look at getting the screen and the battery replaced(if cost effective).

I've just side graded from a 6P to a OP3 and I'm quite happy with my choice. You can get an OP3 or OP3T for under £300.

I went from 6P to OP3T.

Apart from dual front facing speakers the 3T is better in every single way. I'm including the screen in that too, I think anything more than 1080 is a battery wasting pointless exercise.

I can't tell any difference with the resolution on the screen to be honest. I think maybe because the OP3 screen is smaller than the 6P.

The camera certainly isn't better!
The 6P camera still holds its own against the 2017 flagships and is the sole reason I've still not ditched mine yet :)

I agree, even in a VR headset I can't really tell. Another point is that even though the screen is 0.2in smaller in reality you see more most of the time on 3T because of the lack of on screen navigation buttons. Unless the app has immersive mode you'll see a bigger picture on the 3T.

I've always thought the 6P needed an option to auto hide the nav buttons.

AMOLED screen+permanent nav buttons=burn in/ghosting. ( Which I found also on my N6 and Moto Corp)

You have a 3T as well to compare then?

Throw the motoz (not play) in for around 300-350

SD820
2k AMOLED screen
32gb with SD Card support
Moto Mods (some cool stuff happening here)
Stock Android, literally the only thing theyve added is support for the mods

Can be found regularly for this money. CPW did them for 300 JL for 350 all in the last few weeks, my guess next bank holiday will bring them back to around this figure

Having run them side by side, I do prefer the 3T but I think that's mostly personal taste. For my usage pattern proper optical stabilisation is a real bonus.

However you do bring up a good point, overall whilst being objective ( for most users) I wouldn't say it was a better camera. They're in the same ball park though so the fact that everything else is much better IMO caused the "slip of the tongue" by forgetting to mention the camera.

Thanks all. Some interesting thoughts. One plus 3T does seem nice, but not sure it makes sense with one plus5 just around the corner. I think getting anything less than my 6p (e.g. - moto 4) will just end up annoying me. The cracked 6p isn't great, but is still usable.

Any opinions on the upcoming HTC? I think it should be announced/released in the next couple of weeks?
