7 freezing on startup

ive always thought the problem lied with my wireless card because it wasnt built for 7 and i was useing the latest drivers which were only for vista. it still works though and in safe mode i still use the card and it doesnt freeze so i have no idea

When reapplying Windows 7 have you used the serial/key taped to the puter (which you say is Premium)

nope, i put the system restore disc in, it formatted the drive then put windows 7 professional straight on with no input from me

I think it may be a service that is causing it to freeze up because i did as you said and disabled all services and start ups and it works (so far) on normal mode. but i do not know which service it is that is causing the freezes.

I also think it may be something to do with the recent windows 7 update because i system restored to before that was installed and my computer seems better than after the update?
